Overview

Planned Systems International (PSI), a Government Contractor, has an immediate opportunity for an SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) for a departmental metrics data warehouseon theIndependentEnterprise Testingand SupportServices(IETSS) contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of InformationandTechnology (OIT). This position will be part of theTestingProcessQuality Improvement (TPQI) Support team, which consists ofMeasurement and Metrics (MM),process development, management and process improvement,LessonsLearned, Change Management, Knowledge Management, internal Quality Audit Program, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process, and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) planning.The TPQI teamsupports and works closely with the Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Testing Intake Assessment teams, as well as the Test Center systems analysts, systems administrators, DBAs, the VA PM, VACORand other divisions and stakeholders.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

Candidate must be able to:

  • Providesupport fortheIETSS MM program
  • Analyze current and potential disparate data sources
  • Participate in the validation of data quality
  • Build, test, schedule,and troubleshoot extract, transform,and load (ETL) SQLServer Integration Services (SSIS) projects, solutions,and tasks built in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) and executed from SQL Server
  • Continually measure, analyze,and improve database system performance, availability, sustainability,and security
  • Discover, troubleshoot,and correct any database system issues in real time
  • Create,modify,andmaintainadvanced SQL queries
  • Review and suggest refinements to proposed database modifications
  • Support all phases of solution deployment activities
  • Plan and perform regular database maintenance on a periodic basis
  • Be available forafter-hoursactivitieson occasionas needed
  • Aid in the build of data visualizations and reports in Power BI or otherIETSSaccepted reporting/data visualization tools
  • Assistwith the extraction of requirements and assignments for proposed or impending initiatives
  • Develop database objects, including but not limited totables, functions, procedures, views, and database links in SQL Server using standard operating procedures (SOP).Review and pull information aboutIETSSprocesses, policies,and procedures fromIETSSdocumentation
  • Contribute to or write portions of TPQI Measures and Metrics documentation
  • Support quality and process improvement methodologies to develop and continuously update the TPQI Plan
  • Assistin the authoring, review,and revision ofIETSSprogram and process documentation and artifact templates.
Minimum Requirements
  • 5+years of experience inSQL database administration, database development, data engineering, or asimilar technical role.
  • Relational database technologies and data normalization

Education:

  • Bachelorsor Mastersdegree inbusinessanalytics,engineering,electronics engineering, information technology, computer science, data analytics or a related scientific or technical discipline isrequired.
  • Equivalent experience or industry certifications may substitute for formal education.
  • Degree in8 years ofadditionalrelevant experience may be substituted for education
