Full Job Description
We are seeking a Data Validation & Reporting Analyst to support a major platform modernization and transition effort. This role will be responsible for validating and reconciling data across legacy systems and a new platform, analyzing discrepancies, supporting reporting accuracy, and developing operational dashboards and metrics for leadership visibility.

The ideal candidate brings strong SQL skills, hands-on experience with reporting or BI tools, and a solid understanding of data quality, reconciliation, and operational analytics. This person will partner closely with business stakeholders and MIS teams to support UAT, transition readiness, reporting validation, and ad-hoc analysis in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

This is a hybrid role based in the DC/DMV area, with two days on-site each week at the client office in Arlington, VA. The role is well-suited for someone who enjoys solving data problems, building useful reports, and playing a hands-on role in ensuring a successful platform transition.

What you will do:

Validate & Reconcile Data Across Platforms
  • Coordinate validation activities between legacy systems and the new platform during parallel operations and transition periods
    • Analyze discrepancies, data quality issues, and reporting inconsistencies, and support root-cause analysis and resolution coordination
    • Support report validation and reconciliation to ensure alignment between legacy outputs and the new platform's reporting
    • Maintain the Data Validation & Reconciliation Log and supporting validation documentation
Build Reporting & Operational Analytics
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, operational reporting, and performance visibility metrics that support operational leadership
  • Deliver the Operational Dashboard Framework and recurring Monthly Operational Status Metrics summaries
  • Analyze operational metrics, issue trends, and process visibility to surface insights for stakeholders
Support Testing, Readiness & Transition
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), validation coordination, and operational readiness activities
    • Support legacy decommissioning by validating reports, operational processes, and platform outputs
    • Contribute to transition readiness tracking and to the Final Operational Analytics & Validation Summary
Collaborate Cross-Functionally
  • Partner with business stakeholders and MIS teams to translate reporting, analytics, and operational requirements into actionable work items
    • Support change-request analysis and operational-impact assessments for defects, enhancements, and reporting changes
    • Respond to ad hoc analytical and reporting requests with urgency and accuracy in a dynamic operational environment
Document & Support Users
  • Support knowledge management, operational documentation, and user support activities associated with platform stabilization and transition
  • Help keep operational reference materials and process documentation current as changes are implemented

Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship is required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
    • Located in the DC/DMV area and able to work a hybrid schedule with two on-site days (Tuesdays & Wednesdays) at the client office - Arlington, VA
    • 3-5 years of experience in data analytics, data validation, reporting, or business intelligence
    • Strong, hands-on SQL skills for querying, validation, and reconciliation
    • Experience with SAS is strongly preferred; demonstrated proficiency in a comparable analytics/programming language (e.g., Python, R) will be considered
    • Demonstrated experience building dashboards and operational reports, with hands-on experience in a BI/visualization tool
    • Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data quality analysis
    • Consulting or client-facing experience, with comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with frequent ad hoc requests
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
    • A bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred; relevant hands-on experience is given significant weight

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with SAS (SAS Viya, SAS Visual Analytics, or SAS programming)
    • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI and visualization platforms
    • Experience supporting system migrations, parallel operations, or platform cutover activities
    • Familiarity with operational governance, UAT, or change management processes
    • Experience with data reconciliation tools and large-volume data environments
