Financial Intelligence Data Analyst to lead an independent data analytics effort in Annapolis Junction, MD, supporting a critical financial tracking initiative. In this role, you will perform high-impact data analytics to help operational analysts uncover, trace, and discern the sources and recipients of illicit funding networks. You won't just follow a pre-written playbook or wait for daily assignments-as a self-starter, you will proactively research complex datasets, identify high-value target opportunities, and engineer analytical workflows with minimal oversight. The annual base salary range for this role is $119,000-$140,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Mission-Focused Data Analytics: Proven track record applying data analytics to trace complex networks, transaction flows, or entity relationships.
- Independent Research & Target Discovery: Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as a self-starter, identifying research paths and target opportunities with minimal direction.
- Financial Tracking & Data Mapping: Experience analyzing transaction patterns, illicit networks, or specialized financial intelligence datasets.
- Data Manipulation & Querying: Strong proficiency utilizing querying languages (e.g., SQL) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, Pandas, or equivalent frameworks) for data discovery.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, PLUS
3+ years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience OR
Master's Degree in a related field, PLUS
1+ years of specialized analytical experience OR
High School Diploma / GED, PLUS
7+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired SkillsSpecialized Analytics Tools: Experience utilizing
XKEYSCORE (XKS) or
DX platforms, particularly with fingerprint authoring capabilities.
Financial Tracking Methodologies (FTM): Familiarity or direct experience with Financial Tracking Methodologies and specialized financial data repositories.
AI & Machine Learning Integration: Practical exposure to or experience implementing AI/ML tools to automate data triage or pattern detection in unstructured datasets.
Advanced Network Visualization: Experience using link analysis and network visualization platforms (e.g., Analyst's Notebook, Gephi, or custom graph tools) to map financial entities.
