Data Scientists to join our team! In this role, you will apply scientific methodology, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to help extract actionable insights and build predictive capabilities from complex enterprise datasets.
As a Data Scientist, you will contribute to the end-to-end development of AI/ML models-assisting with model training, fine-tuning, feature engineering, and preparation for production deployment. You will collaborate closely with Senior Leads and ML Engineers to structure data science workflows and support the delivery of high-consequence intelligence tools that solve critical mission challenges! You will be building "enterprise capabilities" within the Department of War's authoritative data analytics platform (War Data Platform) for the Chief Digital and AI Officer (DoW CDAO).
The annual base salary range for this role is $120,000-$170,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Programming & Data Science Tools: Proficiency in Python or R, alongside hands-on experience with Databricks Notebooks and MLflow.
- Machine Learning & Modeling: Foundational experience in training, testing, and implementing machine learning algorithms and statistical frameworks.
- Feature Engineering & Optimization: Core skills in hyperparameter tuning, basic model validation, and feature engineering.
- Data Visualization & Analytics: Ability to design clear data visualizations and dashboards to communicate model outputs and statistical insights.
- Governance & Model Validation: Familiarity with testing procedures, model verification, and basic explainability standards.
- Clearance: Active Top Secret, SCI Eligible
- Experience: 1-5+ years of experience working with machine learning models and statistical solutions.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Work Location: Arlington County, VA (Hybrid)
Desired Skills- Exposure to collaborating with Data Engineers on execution pipelines and feature stores within sandbox environments.
