The Opportunity:The Principal AI/ML Scientist is a top-tier subject matter expert who leads the injection of artificial intelligence and machine learning innovation into critical Department of War (DoW) programs. This role pioneers the development of novel AI solutions-from generative models to reinforcement learning agents-to solve complex problems in high-fidelity simulation, operational planning, and human-machine interfacing.
Responsibilities:- Reinforcement Learning for Automated Planning: Develops explainable and high-performance reinforcement learning (RL) agents, including graph neural network-based approaches.
- Generative AI & Natural Language Interfaces: Designs advanced AI patterns, such as Large Language Model (LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, to enable natural language control of complex software and simulation interfaces.
- DoD M&S Integration: Develops and integrates AI/ML applications within DoD Modeling & Simulation environments (e.g., JLVC, JTLS-GO) to enhance realism and analytical capability.
Qualifications:Required:
- Bachelor's or higher in relevant technical discipline such as Computer, Data Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or other engineering majors.
- AI/ML Innovation & Leadership: 10+ years of experience leading the application of advanced data science and AI/ML. Proven ability to architect and develop novel solutions in fields such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, and computer vision.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in lieu of education
- Active Secret Clearance
