Acuity, Inc. is a consulting firm that supports federal agencies in the areas of IT Modernization, Data Enablement, and Hyperautomation. Responsibilities

  • Technical implementation of backup policies and schedules using Commvault, Veeam, or Cohesity.
  • Configure and maintain "Encryption at Rest" and "Encryption in Transit" for all managed backup repositories.
  • Perform regular backup validation and data restoration tests to ensure mission-ready data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot backup failures and optimize performance across virtual and physical environments.
  • Technical implementation of storage targets including cloud-based S3 buckets and on-premises SAN/NAS.
  • Monitor security alerts related to data protection and implement patches for backup infrastructure.
  • Maintain documentation for backup configurations in support of federal audits and ATO reviews.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering or backup administration.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Commvault, Veeam, or Cohesity.
  • Experience managing data in secure GovCloud or on-premises environments.

Preferred Certifications

  • Federal & Security: CompTIA Security+ (required for DoD 8570 compliance).
  • Domain-Specific: Commvault Certified Professional or Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE).
  • Architecture/Management: Azure or AWS Administrator Associate.

Technical Skills

  • Backup Software: Commvault, Veeam, Cohesity.
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server, RHEL/CentOS.
  • Storage Tools: Snapshot management, deduplication, and replication.
  • Security: PKI, SSL/TLS, and FIPS 140-2 validated encryption tools.

Regulatory & Domain Expertise

  • Demonstrated expertise in applying NIST 800-53 security controls for data availability.
  • Technical implementation of FedRAMP Moderate/High security baselines.
  • Understanding of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) handling procedures.

Clearance Requirement

Active security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)
