Job Summary

The Lead Salesforce Architect will own the architecture, strategic direction, governance, and delivery of a complex Salesforce platform supporting sales, service, renewals, and multiple business units. This hands-on leadership role will lead a team of internal administrators and external partners while partnering with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Operations, and Information Security to translate business strategy into a scalable Salesforce roadmap. The role will oversee Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Agentforce, custom development, integrations, data architecture, security, DevOps, and platform modernization. The architect will report to the VP of IT & CISO and will be responsible for making and defending architectural decisions while maintaining strong technical standards and reliable platform operations.

Key Responsibilities
• Own the architecture and delivery of the migration to Revenue Cloud, including target-state revenue processes, product and pricing models, data migration, and phased implementation planning.
• Own the multi-year Salesforce platform roadmap and align platform investments with business outcomes and company strategy.
• Make and defend build-versus-buy and build-versus-configure recommendations, including evaluation of AppExchange solutions and implementation partners.
• Own integrations and data architecture across upstream and downstream systems, including integration patterns, middleware strategy, master data management, and data governance.
• Lead architectural onboarding of acquisitions and new business units onto the Salesforce platform, including environment assessment, target-state definition, migration planning, consolidation, and data conversion.
• Establish and enforce Salesforce architectural standards, design patterns, and governance processes.
• Serve as the design authority for significant platform changes and review solution designs before development begins.
• Maintain an explicit and prioritized technical debt backlog.
• Own the Salesforce release and DevOps strategy, including source control, environment and sandbox management, and deployment pipelines.
• Translate Salesforce product releases, retiring features, and licensing model changes into actionable plans and advise leadership on associated costs, risks, and opportunities.
• Partner with Information Security on platform security architecture, access model design, audit requirements, and compliance.
• Lead, develop, and retain a team of Salesforce administrators and identify additional capacity requirements as the platform and business grow.
• Manage direct reports through one-on-ones, goal setting, performance reviews, and career development planning.
• Ensure reliable Salesforce platform operations, including production incidents, integration failure triage, scheduled job and Flow error monitoring, and management of certificates, credentials, and Connected Apps.
• Establish team operating practices covering intake, prioritization, estimation, documentation, peer review, and definition of done.
• Own capacity planning and prioritization while negotiating scope and sequencing with stakeholders across departments.
• Mentor administrators and technical team members on Salesforce architecture and development practices through design reviews and collaborative working sessions.
• Manage implementation partners, contractors, and Salesforce account and support teams while maintaining consistent delivery standards.
• Represent the Salesforce team to executive stakeholders and communicate roadmap progress, risks, and resourcing requirements.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience working on the Salesforce platform, including experience in architecture or lead solution design.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team, managing direct reports, or in a similar leadership capacity.
• Experience integrating acquired companies or new business units into an existing Salesforce instance.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ internals, including amendment and renewal logic, subscription pricing, and quote-to-order data models.
• Hands-on experience with Revenue Cloud, including RLM / Revenue Cloud Advanced.
• Proven experience architecting and administering complex Salesforce environments with multiple integrations.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture, integrations, data architecture, security, DevOps, and governance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders ranging from end users to executive leadership.
