The Data Center Site Lead (IAD) serves as the primary onsite leader for Summit's Ashburn data center, overseeing day-to-day operations, customer support activities, and facility performance. This role combines hands-on operational responsibility with leadership of site priorities, operational coordination, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
As the senior onsite resource, the Site Lead acts as a trusted escalation point for customers, vendors, and internal teams, helping ensure operational excellence, consistent service delivery, and a highly reliable data center environment. Success in this role requires strong operational judgment, customer focus, and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
What You'll Do:• Provide day-to-day leadership for operations at the IAD facility, ensuring activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with established standards.
• Coordinate operational priorities, customer requests, maintenance activities, and project work across the site.
• Serve as the primary onsite escalation point for operational, customer, vendor, and facility-related issues.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and operational support to onsite personnel while promoting accountability and consistency in execution.
• Partner with customers to ensure a positive experience and timely resolution of requests and issues.
• Monitor operational performance, identify risks, and proactively address issues that could impact service delivery.
• Drive adherence to site processes, operational procedures, security requirements, and compliance standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, documentation, efficiency, and the overall customer experience.
• Coordinate customer visits, facility access, audits, and vendor activities.
• Collaborate with Data Center Operations leadership on capacity planning, operational initiatives, and site improvement efforts.
• Support incident response activities, operational escalations, and service restoration efforts when needed.
• Maintain accurate operational records, site documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Represent the IAD facility in cross-functional initiatives and act as a key liaison between site operations and business stakeholders.
• Support projects and operational initiatives as needed.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You:• Experience working in a data center, managed services, cloud, or infrastructure operations environment.
• Familiarity with remote hands services, hardware deployments, cabling, and infrastructure support.
• Experience supporting customer-facing operations in a 24x7 environment.
• Knowledge of data center best practices related to security, compliance, and operational controls.
• Experience serving as a lead technician, site lead, shift lead, or operational lead.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional operational initiatives.
• Familiarity with capacity planning, operational reporting, or service delivery metrics.

Compensation:The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $114,250 annually. Compensation for this role is based on experience, skills, and location. We aim to make offers that are fair, forward-looking, and aligned to both what you bring and where you're growing.
