Data Center Power Applications Engineer

Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $100,000/year (Higher compensation available based on experience)
Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support the design and application of electrical power solutions for data center environments. This position works with customers, consultants, contractors, sales, production, and engineering teams to develop solutions, resolve technical issues, and support projects from initial requirements through field startup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate customer requirements into engineered solutions for data center electrical systems.
  • Work with Sales to develop proposals, submittal packages, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate order entry and track projects through production, installation, and field startup.
  • Provide customers and consultants with technical guidance on power distribution and STS applications.
  • Review electrical designs and compliance documentation for customer approval.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and application issues during installation, commissioning, and operation.
  • Conduct technical training and presentations for customers, consultants, and channel partners.
  • Support product testing, application notes, and competitive evaluations for data center solutions.
  • Collect customer feedback and communicate product improvement opportunities to Product Development and R&D teams.
  • Travel to customer locations, job sites, and data center facilities approximately 25-35%.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of applications, field, and/or design engineering experience involving data center electrical infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
  • Strong understanding of data center electrical architecture, including:
    • UL 891 switchboards
    • PDUs
    • STSs
    • Redundancy strategies such as N+1 and 2N
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically as required.
