Role: Data Architect

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data modeling.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms, including Azure and/or AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience with ETL tools, APIs, and integration frameworks.
  • 5+ years of experience with modern cloud data warehouses, particularly Snowflake.

Position Overview

The Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's data architecture to ensure data integrity, scalability, security, and accessibility. This role defines how data is stored, managed, integrated, and consumed across systems while aligning data solutions with business objectives and technology standards.

The Data Architect will leverage modern cloud data platforms, including Snowflake, to support enterprise data warehousing, analytics, and scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Design
  • Develop and maintain enterprise data models, schemas, standards, and architecture frameworks.
  • Define data flows, integration patterns, and data movement strategies across enterprise systems.
  • Design cloud-native data solutions using platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.

Database Management
  • Lead logical and physical database design with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with DBAs on database optimization, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Optimize Snowflake architecture, workloads, and resource utilization.

Data Governance
  • Establish and maintain standards for data quality, security, governance, and compliance.
  • Implement metadata management practices and maintain enterprise data dictionaries.
  • Ensure data architecture supports organizational governance and regulatory requirements.

ETL/ELT & Integration
  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data warehousing, reporting, and analytics.
  • Utilize Snowflake data ingestion and transformation capabilities.
  • Design integration solutions using APIs, integration frameworks, and cloud services.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between on-premises and cloud-based systems.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership
  • Partner with business analysts, developers, DBAs, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and establish data modeling and architecture best practices.
  • Communicate architecture decisions and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Performance & Security
  • Ensure data architecture meets performance, availability, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Implement appropriate encryption, access controls, auditing, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Monitor and optimize data platforms to meet established performance SLAs.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Evaluate emerging technologies in cloud computing, big data, AI/ML, and modern data platforms.
  • Recommend improvements to existing data architecture and technology standards.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize Snowflake and cloud capabilities to improve scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
