The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced data models and analytical solutions supporting mission-critical decision-making. In this role, you will build scalable data frameworks, drive high-impact analysis, and partner closely with subject-matter experts to uncover meaningful insights within complex data environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performance data models that enhance analytical reporting and support rapid user insights.
  • Build robust frameworks that enable intuitive end-user data discovery and exploration.
  • Develop advanced data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading (ETL) processes connecting transactional and analytical systems.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to produce reports, dashboards, and data visualizations tailored to user requirements.
  • Apply statistical methods, predictive modeling, and forecasting techniques to drive actionable recommendations.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and relationships within large, complex, and time-series datasets.
  • Independently or collaboratively deliver operations research and advanced concept studies, presenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Formulate mathematical and logical models to solve management and operational challenges.
  • Maintain expertise with OLAP tools and analytical technologies.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to translate mission needs into clear analytical requirements.
  • Utilize and troubleshoot Jupyter kernels and varied execution environments (local and virtualized).
  • Prepare clear, non-technical reports outlining solution options, feasibility, and probability of success when no single definitive solution exists.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • An active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field related to operations research or data science.
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting DoD-equivalent agencies.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in operations research, data science, or related analytical fields.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, Visual Basic, or similar.
  • Strong statistical, mathematical, and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Experience designing and executing complex SQL queries.
  • Ability to apply judgment and quantitative methods to develop, test, and refine data models.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze operations, evaluate model performance, and recommend improvements.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
