Position Overview:

Join Siemens Rail Automation US as a Sales Support Professional within the Freight Estimating Organization, where you will lead estimating, proposal development, pricing activities, and critical business processes from concept to completion. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze complex data, develop accurate estimates, and drive successful business outcomes.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and experienced in data analysis, data mining, estimating methodologies, and pricing tools, with a passion for uncovering insights hidden within large data sets. You will work across a broad range of functional teams and stakeholders, helping to improve decision-making and operational success. What your day may look like:
  • Perform daily tasks to prepare product estimates with an emphasis on analyzing data to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, optimal Gross Margin, and competitive estimates for both domestic and international opportunities.
  • Review specifications, interface with Engineering and Sales to ensure Siemens is bidding to prescribed and documented Scope of Work.
  • Set up meetings with Sales and/or Management to review bids prior to submittal and/or resolve any issues that arise in the bid phase.
  • Attending Internal and External meetings to review open opportunities, align on bid date commitments and communicate any issues that arise.
  • Interface with Estimating and Strategic Design and Development teams to develop and implement data analytic solutions including testing and training of others.

  • Emphasis on streamlining processes and data analytic improvements.
  • Create requirements documentation for estimates and proposals.

What will make you successful in this role:
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Math, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business or related subject area. Advanced degree Preferred.
  • Experience in Freight Rail Engineering, Freight Products, estimating, and proposal development, with the ability to gather requirements and translate them into accurate estimates and customer-focused solutions.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in data analysis, process optimization, operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, quality programs, and change management projects.
  • Proven ability to manage complex and high-impact projects while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions including Engineering, Finance, HR, Procurement, and Sales.
  • Leadership experience through project management or people leadership, combined with a customer-focused mindset, adaptability, and the ability to quickly learn and implement new processes.

The pay range for this position is Jacksonville, FL & Louisville, KY $91,086.00 - Jacksonville, FL & Louisville, KY $123,318.00 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
