Data Tech Lead - AI & Data Engineering
About the Role

As a Data Tech Lead - AI & Data Engineering, you will make an impact by leading the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise-scale Data and AI solutions that drive business transformation and innovation. You will be a valued member of the Data & AI practice and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, solution architects, data engineers, AI engineers, and cloud teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms.

In this role, you will combine deep technical expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence to develop next-generation solutions that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI initiatives.
In This Role, You Will
  • Lead end-to-end Data & AI solution architecture, design, development, and delivery across enterprise programs.
  • Design and implement scalable Data Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, ETL/ELT, and analytics platforms leveraging modern cloud technologies.
  • Develop and deploy Generative AI and AI-powered solutions that address complex business challenges and create measurable business value.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and future-ready technical solutions.
  • Drive cloud adoption, engineering best practices, governance, and solution standardization across Data & AI initiatives.
  • Mentor Data Engineers and AI Engineers while conducting technical reviews and providing architectural guidance.
  • Ensure solution scalability, security, reliability, performance, and compliance.
  • Support solution architecture, effort estimation, proposal development, and client-facing technical discussions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement modern software engineering and DevOps practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches to advance organizational Data & AI capabilities.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

  • Strong understanding of solution architecture, API development, microservices architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable Data Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, and analytics solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
These Will Help You Stand Out
  • Experience implementing Generative AI, Agentic AI, Machine Learning, or advanced analytics solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark.
  • Experience developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI copilots, and intelligent automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of MLOps, DataOps, and modern AI engineering practices.
  • Experience working with large-scale cloud migration, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks, vector databases, and enterprise AI platforms.
  • Experience supporting client-facing solutioning, pre-sales activities, and executive stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience within industries such as Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Retail, Manufacturing, or Logistics.

Salary and Other Compensation

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, location, and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable employment laws and Cognizant compensation practices in Canada.

This position may also be eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
