Full Job Description
The Pharmacist at River Edge is responsible for compounding and dispensing medications accurately, providing consultative services to clients and healthcare providers, and ensuring the safe handling of medications using aseptic techniques. This role includes assisting customers, processing prescription requests, maintaining accurate records, and supporting pharmacy operations through administrative and professional tasks as needed.

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Location/Schedule:175 Emery Highway, Macon, GA 31217 & 3575 Fulton Mill Rd, Macon GA

Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM & some weekends

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately based on prescriptions from authorized medical practitioners.
  • Offer consultative services to clients and healthcare providers regarding medication use and safety.
  • Provide customer support by assisting with inquiries, answering calls, and ensuring professional delivery service.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support pharmacy operations.
  • Input medical and demographic data into the system, assisting in the preparation of reports.
  • Accurately fill medication bottles, affix appropriate labels, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Price and organize filled prescriptions for efficient retrieval.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of written and phoned-in prescription requests.

Minimum Training & Experience:
  • Current Georgia pharmacy license with two years of professional pharmacy experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Degree
  • Current Georgia pharmacy license with at least one year of professional pharmacy experience.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's license
  • All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
  • Provide 2 Professional references (Former employers only, no family members).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in behavioral health pharmacy is beneficial but not required.
  • Retail pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office or relevant pharmacy-specific software.
  • Ability to accurately read prescriptions, use the metric system for weighing and measuring, and understand basic medical terminology and drug names/synonyms.

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates skill in aseptic techniques, pharmaceutical processes, and the use of relevant software for data entry, reporting, and operational tasks.

Communication and Consultation: Effectively delivers consultative services to healthcare providers and clients, ensuring clear communication of medication usage and safety.

Adaptability and Multi-tasking: Capably manages diverse responsibilities, including administrative duties, phone support, and operational tasks, while prioritizing workflow efficiently.
