Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience accepted)
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications preferred, including GCIH, GCIA, CISSP, and cloud-specific qualifications like AWS or Azure
• Strong understanding of security operations, digital forensics, incident response, and threat detection methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams in an operational environment
• 7-10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with a minimum of 3-5 years in SOC, Incident Response, or Threat Detection roles
• 3+ years of experience managing or leading teams, focusing on performance management and talent development
• Hands-on experience in leading cyber incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop an Incident Detection and Response (IDR) team
• Conduct cyber incident investigations and oversee root cause analysis
• Design and operate detection capabilities complying with risk appetite
• Develop threat models and improve cyber defense posture
• Implement data-driven methodology to measure cyber defense effectiveness
• Coordinate response activities across IT, legal, HR, and other stakeholders
• Establish and track metrics for defense effectiveness, reporting outcomes to leadership.
