Customs Brokerage Assistant Manager
A Customs Brokerage Assistant Manager overseeing daily customs clearance operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and delivering high levels of customer service
How you create impact- Support the management of day-to-day customs brokerage activities
- Oversee the preparation and submission of import customs entries and ensure timely and accurate customs clearance of shipments
- Monitor shipment status and address clearance delays or exceptions
- Assist with customs examinations, holds, and post-entry correction
- Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements
- Review customs documentation for completeness and accuracy and verify proper tariff classification, valuation, and country-of-origin declarations
- Stay informed about changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and import/export requirements
- Support internal and external compliance audit
- Supervise Customs Brokerage Specialists, Entry Writers, and Coordinators and provide training on customs regulations, company procedures, and compliance standards
- Assist in workload allocation and performance management and also serve as an escalation point for operational and customer issues
- Support employee coaching and development initiative
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide customs-related guidance
- Address customer inquiries regarding duties, taxes, customs regulations, and shipment status and resolve escalated customs clearance issues promptly
- Support customer onboarding and implementation activities
What we would like you to bring- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or related field.
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred.
- 5+ years of customs brokerage experience from freight forwarding industry preferred
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification
