Customs Brokerage Assistant Manager

A Customs Brokerage Assistant Manager overseeing daily customs clearance operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and delivering high levels of customer service

How you create impact

  • Support the management of day-to-day customs brokerage activities
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of import customs entries and ensure timely and accurate customs clearance of shipments
  • Monitor shipment status and address clearance delays or exceptions
  • Assist with customs examinations, holds, and post-entry correction
  • Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements
  • Review customs documentation for completeness and accuracy and verify proper tariff classification, valuation, and country-of-origin declarations
  • Stay informed about changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and import/export requirements
  • Support internal and external compliance audit
  • Supervise Customs Brokerage Specialists, Entry Writers, and Coordinators and provide training on customs regulations, company procedures, and compliance standards
  • Assist in workload allocation and performance management and also serve as an escalation point for operational and customer issues
  • Support employee coaching and development initiative
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide customs-related guidance
  • Address customer inquiries regarding duties, taxes, customs regulations, and shipment status and resolve escalated customs clearance issues promptly
  • Support customer onboarding and implementation activities

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
