Inside the Role
Provide Application Engineering (Sales Engineering) support for Truck Sales Order validation and processing; support and create product data used for Truck Sales Order creation and processing such as vehicle, component, and option weight estimates and order processing tools relating to component application guidelines. Also receive, review, and interpret upcoming product changes with respect to product data creation and maintenance

Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000 - $91,000 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Receive, interpret, and implement upcoming product changes that impact product definition data (weights, application guidelines, and other data structures) in order to support accurate and timely quote and order processing and to insure Truck Sales Orders meet customer expectations.
  • Provide, maintain, and support analytical tools and resources, such as calculation spreadsheets and programs, in order to support accurate and timely quote and order processing and to insure Truck Sales Orders meet customer expectations.
  • Liaise with various DTNA departments (Marketing, Product Engineering, SpecPro) and certain suppliers to interpret, implement, and improve vehicle related product data and component application guidelines in order to support accurate and timely quote and order processing and to insure Truck Sales Orders meet customer expectations.
  • Support Order Development Teams, dealers, and certain customers with vehicle performance and tare weight estimates.
  • Support Compliance and Regulatory Affairs with vehicle regulatory conformance as it is affected by application related product data and information.
  • Assist with training other CAE personnel in relation to Application Engineering (Sales Engineering) functions and proficiencies.
  • Create/maintain documentation required to define and support the job function such as Work Instructions and other business records.


Knowledge You Should Bring

  • BS/BA and prefer 0-2 years of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Engineering/Technology (BS Engineering or BS Engineering Technology) focus is preferred
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally, with emails, and by way of official letters and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal communication ability
  • Ability to review and interpret data and information utilizing spreadsheets and equivalent reports.
  • Ability to read and interpret Technical Documentation such as part drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Material (BOM's).
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Must be able to visualize how mechanical systems and structures are assembled and how they function based on part drawings and assembly drawings.
  • Ability to apply basic statics (rigid body mechanics) to resolve force/load/weight distributions on simple structures.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook.


Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Basic proficiency with Excel VBA programming.
