CT Technologist,

Tridant Solutions Inc. is currently looking for a CT Technologist

to service our location in Ketchikan, Alaska Area.

A skilled CT technologist who can proficiently operate our CT scanning equipment and produce diagnostic images with excellent technical quality. The CT Technologist will be responsible for inventory management of radiologic supplies, ensuring that the radiologic equipment is functioning properly, and adhering to established guidelines for hygiene and infection control. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be capable of monitoring patients during the scanning process to detect and react to any allergic reactions caused by contrast agents.

DUTIES
  • Prepare, supply, and equip exam room to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
  • Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required.
  • Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize exam.
  • Perform the most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
  • Provides patient education and instruction prior to and after examination. Provide training/education to staff and students as indicated.
  • Demonstrates ability to adapt exams to address problems of patient care as they arise making decisions to appropriately resolve problems.
  • Operates CT scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction, and documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Applies ALARA principle to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self-patient, and visitor. Evaluates patient for pregnancy prior to exam as indicated.
  • Performs interventional procedures applying knowledge of equipment, supplies, and AORN standards.
  • Performs other patient care activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned consistent with Caregivers' scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology program required.
  • A minimum of one-year previous experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development, and life stages to meet each patient's need.
  • Demonstrated venipuncture competency.
  • PACS/RIS knowledge is required.
  • EPIC RIS, FUJI and IntelliSpace PACS experience is preferred.
  • ARRT (R) Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist is required.
  • Certification/Registration/Licensure as required by the State for trained modality.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
  • High-level interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with patients during stressful experiences.
  • Strong organizational abilities and good communication skills
  • The appropriate license to work in their state/county.
  • Fluent in English.


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and stretch frequently.
  • Must possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
  • Needs to have adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision.
  • Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and the ability to grasp and hand objects efficiently.
  • Must be able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, and transferring in and out of bed, chair, or wheelchair.
  • May be required to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to use standard and other isolation precautions due to the threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids or infectious diseases.
  • Needs to have the ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or by phone.
  • May be required to periodic use of a personal computer.
