Software Engineer to join our technical team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you will help design, develop, test, and maintain complex software systems ranging from data-intensive analytics and algorithm implementations to real-time processing pipelines. You won't just sit in the background fixing minor bugs-you'll actively contribute to application features, review code for performance and compliance with design requirements, and participate in full software life-cycle activities. The annual base salary range for this role is $124,000-$146,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Software Development Fundamentals: Hands-on experience developing, debugging, and testing software applications using modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or C++).
- Problem Solving & Debugging: Strong ability to analyze technical issues, trace software errors, and implement reliable defect fixes.
- Agile Software Development: Familiarity working within Agile or Scrum team environments and software version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Technical Writing & Documentation: Skill in documenting test results, system components, and software designs clearly.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS
2+ years of professional software engineering experience OR
Master's Degree in a related technical field (0+ years experience required) OR
High School Diploma / GED, PLUS
6+ years of hands-on technical software development experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired SkillsCloud & Containerization Technologies: Exposure to AWS cloud environments, Docker, or Kubernetes container orchestration.
CI/CD & Automation: Familiarity with automated build and deployment tools such as GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
Scripting Skills: Proficiency writing automation or utility scripts in Python or Bash.
Data Processing: Experience working with relational or non-relational databases and distributed data pipelines.
