Full Job Description
The Critical Facilities Lead Engineer serves as the primary technical and operational authority on-site, overseeing the daily activities of the Data Center Operations team and coordinating with external vendors. Reporting directly to site leadership, this role ensures that all mission critical systems are operated and maintained in accordance with Salute's standards for safety, compliance, and performance. The Lead Engineer is responsible for managing reactive and preventive maintenance, enforcing SLA and KPI adherence, and driving incident resolution through structured processes and CMMS utilization. This position requires a proactive leader with deep technical expertise and a commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise the Technical Operations Site Team, ensuring all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Salute's protocols and regulatory standards.
• Oversee all planned and reactive maintenance tasks for building services infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Ensure full utilization of the CMMS platform for work order management, incident tracking, and performance reporting.
• Act as the primary point of contact for infrastructure issues, coordinating with internal engineers and escalating to third-party specialists when necessary.
• Monitor SLA and KPI compliance, facilitate incident management, and maintain clear communication with client representatives and site leadership.
• Serve as an HV Authorized Person, performing safe isolations, issuing permits to work, and ensuring adherence to high-voltage operational procedures.
• Develop, review, and refine SOPs and emergency procedures to ensure readiness for routine and critical scenarios.
• Conduct statutory compliance testing and ensure timely resolution of any nonconformance issues.
• Supervise specialist service contractors, including onboarding, work approval, and adherence to RAMS, MOPs, and site regulations.
• Support site operations through technical guidance, coverage planning, and coordination with the Technical Ops planning team.
• Assist in site specific Training and Job Shadowing of Critical Facilities Engineer I, II and III to ensure proper development

Qualifications
• 5-7 years of experience in mission-critical mechanical and electrical environments, preferably within the IT or telecommunications industry.
• Proven experience in data center operations and infrastructure management.
• In-depth knowledge of key data center systems, including UPS, generators, cooling systems, and fire/life safety.
• Formal electrical training (e.g., City & Guilds) and a QQI Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate (Electrical) or equivalent.
• Completion of AP15 training and experience as an HV Authorized Person.
• Ability to interpret and work with electrical and mechanical diagrams.
• Proficiency in maintenance systems and CMMS platforms.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and operational reliability.
• High personal standards of accountability, professionalism, and safety.

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure
The base salary range for this role is $50-$55/hour. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
