Full Job Description
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional to evaluate, treat and assess patients with range of mental health disorders. Resolves a wide range of issues. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and approach to treatment and / or program administration. Uses professional concepts to evaluate and deliver therapeutic/ behavioral interventions. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. This clinician has autonomous professional responsibility for 5150 evaluations, emergency behavioral health assessments, level of care determination, and interventions with patients and families. The incumbent makes recommendations to medical staff regarding the level of care determination of behavioral health and psychiatric patients. This clinician will work collaboratively with medical, social work and nursing staff and other behavioral health and psychiatric staff to assess and care for behavioral health and psychiatric patients and family members in primary care and other mental health settings. May lead in planning and coordinating the work of a multidisciplinary treatment staff. Assists with short-term therapeutic goals; utilizes crisis management and other therapeutic tools; conducts training for professional and paraprofessional staff members; and provides psychotherapeutic treatment with emphasis on the most severely disturbed and high risk cases.

Behavioral health care services at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals emphasize a collaborative family centered approach and interface with all systems of care that serve children birth to 21. We are committed to delivering culturally accountable, evidence based, and trauma informed behavioral health care to the children in our community, including those with the highest risk and need, and those who are marginalized or underserved. Behavioral health care services aim to be the premier behavioral health care institution for children in northern California, with proficiency in clinical care, training, research and evaluation and policy.

The Crisis Response Bridge Clinic (CRBC) is a Bridge program for patients presenting to BCH Oakland outpatient clinics and ED with moderate to severe mental health needs. CRBC can assist with short term (90 days) brief intervention (therapy and medication support) and case management. The goals of CRBC can include bridging patients to long term care or using brief interventions for the purpose of stabilization and support. Position is for CRBC Clinician to join this growing team.
