Credit Manager

FSLA Status: Exempt (Salaried)

Summary

We are currently seeking a "best in class" Credit Managerwith excellent organization skills and a personable disposition that is responsible for the overall credit and collections of accounts receivable for Acme Brick and related companies. Supervises associates responsible for cash application, credit memo processing, check reimbursements and credit decisions. Dotted line responsibility for field credit associates. The ideal candidate has a natural ability to roll with the punches, being flexible to handle anything that might come their way. You'll be a strong and reliable support to company operations, maintaining procedures, communication and customer service. Not only will your efforts allow us to achieve organizational efficiency, you will nurture the pleasant work environment our people love.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
• Provide advice and direction for credit decisions throughout the company
• Ensure proper training of field credit associates
• Ensure lien and bond rights are maintained
• Liaison with sales management and other departments within the company
• Identify potential bad debt and limit write-offs to less than 0.25% of sales.
• Meet established goals for processing of credit memos and check reimbursements
• Monthly reporting of credit department statistics - bad debt, collections, location performance

Skills and Experience Required for Success
• Considerable knowledge of practices pertaining to credit and AR.
• Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with sales locations across the country with both centralized and decentralized credit associates
• Professional, goal-oriented, and motivated with excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with other employees and represent the Acme Brick Company in an effective way.
• Knowledge of Lien & Bond laws and procedures
