DescriptionIf another position becomes available within five months of this recruitment's closing date, the applicant pool from this posting may be used to fill additional vacancies.The Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated individual who possesses strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as solid commitment to teamwork and team building. Under the direction of Atlantic/Cape May Court Executive 2B Probation Division - Chief and or Assistant Probation Division Manager - Assistant Chief, the selected individual supervises, monitors, coordinates and oversees a team of professional, paraprofessional, and clerical staff that are diversified in Probation to include Adult and Juvenile Supervision. Probation Division requires that the selected individual will have to work an Alternate Work Schedule which could include late nights and weekends.
NOTES: Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. Travel within the multi-county vicinage may be required. Applicants are advised of the possibility that the individuals selected for this position may be reassigned to another location within the multi-county vicinage if operational needs require it. Locations include Atlantic City, Cape May Court House and Mays Landing.
REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
Example of Duties - Lead and coordinate the work of a case management team
- Develop work unit team goals
- Define objectives; mentor and coach staff; provide direction and feedback
- Foster and maintain relationships with other divisions, external agencies, law enforcement, treatment providers and other stakeholders
- Recommends, develops and implements improvement plans in operating procedures, work processes and administrative processes.
- Oversees special projects, provides customer service, tracks cases for management purposes, reports progress and resolution of problems to achieve performance goals
- Performs case reviews to ensure systems accurately reflect team performance and reviews, monitors and prepares statistical reports
- Performs field duties and urine screenings when necessary
- Maintains flexibility since some activities occur during alternate hours
- Conducts formal performance evaluations
- Handles personnel and work performance issues; recommends disciplinary action when necessary
- Performs additional job duties as required
QualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in calendar management; case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders.
Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above -OR- a law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above.

Supplemental InformationNote: Court Services Supervisor 2 is an unclassified position and the Judiciary has the non-reviewable right to remove employees in this position. Removed employees in this position will be permitted to return to their previously held career service title and if no prior career service title was held, the Judiciary will make good faith reasonable efforts to place the employee in another position.
Driver's License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.

Residency Law: In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
