Position SummaryAs a Counterparty Risk Analyst within State Street Investment Management (IM), you provide independent counterparty risk oversight across all asset classes and products offered by the investment management business. The primary focus of the team is to independently measure and monitor counterparty risk, ensuring that counterparty exposure associated with trading activities is prudently managed.
The role will focus primarily on the execution of counterparty risk processes, including daily and ad-hoc risk reporting, investigation of data quality issues, and trade monitoring. Some knowledge of capital markets and trading lifecycle required.
The individual will play an important role in maintaining and enhancing the team's internally developed credit application, which houses counterparty data and supports counterparty risk reporting and analysis. This will include documenting business requirements for Technology partners, participating in new capability builds, and testing new and existing functionality. In addition to reporting and technology responsibilities, the role will include counterparty credit analysis, including responsibility for a portfolio of trading counterparties.
You will work with our Technology Risk partners to drive improvement in productivity via automation and centralization of risk reporting as well as design and execute our digital transformation strategy. The candidate should possess strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across Risk, Technology, Operations, Legal, and Investment teams.
Qualifications- Produce daily counterparty risk reporting, identify data quality issues, exposure changes, trade exceptions, and other reporting anomalies.
- Generate time-sensitive counterparty risk reports such as regulatory reports.
- Maintain and enhance the team's internally developed credit application, which stores counterparty data and supports reporting and analytics.
- Participate in new capability builds, user acceptance testing, regression testing, and validation of new and existing system functionality.
- Draft and maintain business requirement documents for Technology partners.
- Support digital transformation partnering closely with IM Risk IT to ensure best in class platform supporting new product offerings and risk reporting.
- Manage a portfolio of trading counterparties, conducting periodic credit reviews and ongoing monitoring.
- Participate in cross-functional ad-hoc projects.
- Contribute to a strong control environment by maintaining accurate documentation, repeatable processes, and effective challenge.
Other Key Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in risk management, credit, investment management, financial services, or operations.
- Working knowledge of financial markets and the trade lifecycle.
- Ability to support multiple deliverables while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with Tableau, SQL, databases, or workflow automation tools considered a plus
- Strong problem-solving, effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $157,500 Annual
