Job Description

In this role, you will provide practical legal counsel and strategic guidance to Texas Children's and its affiliated entities. You'll partner with leaders across the organization, advise on a broad range of legal matters, negotiate and draft contracts, and collaborate with outside counsel to help protect and advance the organization's mission.

What You'll Do
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to leadership and business partners on a variety of operational and strategic matters.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze complex issues, and develop practical solutions to mitigate legal risk.
  • Draft, review, revise, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts and other legal documents.
  • Support the contract lifecycle, including negotiations and execution, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review organizational policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with litigation matters and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on cross-functional initiatives and special projects.
  • Interact with state and federal agencies, when appropriate, on matters impacting the organization.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal team members to support departmental priorities and organizational objectives.

  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal technology platforms, including AI-enabled tools.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and effectively communicate with executives, leaders, and team members across the organization.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain a Texas law license within 12 months of hire.
  • Two (2) or more years of legal experience, with a focus on contract drafting, review, and negotiation preferred
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations or other highly regulated industries is a plus preferred
