Position Overview:
Western State Hospital is seeking a COTA Therapy Assistant to implement psychosocial programs designed to promote and maintain health, reinforce, restore and enhance task performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts and co-facilitates up to 4 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation interventions per day across various learning centers and assigned PCU per COVID-19 protocols
- Ensures that interventions are appropriate to individual client's ages, interests, and abilities as reflected by assessment data
- Completes assigned documentation according to facility and departmental guidelines
- Attends a minimum of 6 PSR staff development sessions per year
- Conducts at least one satisfaction survey of consumers served in group per quarter
- Supervises and/or co-supervises level 1 and level 2 OTA and OT students

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Experience in patient care
- Licensed by the Virginia Board
