Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 base salary plus annual bonus opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to lead the financial accounting and cost accounting activities supporting our Catoosa manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory valuation, product costing, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while leading a team of finance professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing accounting background and experience partnering with operations leaders to improve inventory accuracy, cost visibility, and financial performance.

This position works closely with plant leadership, operations teams, financial business partners, and corporate finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance while driving process improvements across the facility.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop the site's finance and accounting team.
  • Own product costing, inventory accounting, and inventory valuation processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory variances, labor efficiencies, and overhead absorption.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventories.
  • Partner with plant leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational performance.
  • Manage monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, rebate accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and operational reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory controls, costing methodologies, and accounting processes.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and reporting integrity.


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Experience leading, developing, and mentoring accounting or finance staff.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ability to translate financial information into actionable insights for operations leaders.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional partnership abilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing, packaging, industrial, or process manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple production lines or plant locations.
  • CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is a plus.
