Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Security Specialist with extensive knowledge of DD Form 254, Contract Security Classification Specification, processes specifically in the drafting, managing and oversight of security requirements for classified contracts. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience working with government agencies and defense contractors to ensure compliance with security regulations and requirements outlined in the DD Form 254, ensuring the protection of classified information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • DD Form 254 Management: Oversee the preparation, review, and management of DD Form 254s, ensuring all security requirements and classifications are accurately reflected and comply with federal and agency standards.
  • Security Documentation: Draft and review security documentation related to classified contracts, including but not limited to access control plans, security classification guides, and facility security plans.
  • NISS Administration: Administer, manage, and support the use of the National Industrial Security System (NISS), including the submission of required security documentation and ensuring the accurate maintenance of all classified contract information within the system.
  • Compliance Oversight: Serve as the primary point of contact for ensuring compliance with all security-related clauses of contracts, working closely with government security representatives and contractors.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate security risks associated with contracts, providing guidance on security controls, reporting, and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Facility Clearance (FCL): Oversee the FCL sponsorship process and collaborate with sponsoring agencies, prime contractors and subcontractors to facilitate and submit necessary FCL requests.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on the proper handling and processing of DD Form 254s and related security procedures.
  • Audit and Inspection: Conduct periodic audits and inspections to ensure security requirements are being met, document findings, and work with appropriate stakeholders to address issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, security personnel, and contracting officers to align on security requirements and ensure timely and accurate security paperwork submission.


Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with DD Form 254s, security compliance, classified contract management and contract modification management process.
  • In-depth understanding of the requirements and procedures for DD Form 254, including its drafting, modification, and lifecycle management.
  • Bachelor's degree in security management or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Strong knowledge of NISPOM, FAR, DFARS, and other applicable security standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and managing security-related documents and policies.
  • Experience with government contracting and working with DoD or related agencies.
  • Working knowledge of ACCS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and coordinate activities within deadlines.
