About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Purchasing Manager to lead all day-to-day purchasing activities within a growing, multi-site manufacturing supply chain. This is a high-impact role responsible for managing a team of buyers, driving cost reduction, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing procurement experience, strong ERP proficiency, and a data-driven approach to supply chain leadership.

What You'll Do

Operational Oversight
  • Oversee purchase of raw materials, standard parts, custom parts, auxiliaries, and facilities requirements in a timely and economical manner
  • Serve as the escalation point for operational issues including late deliveries, capacity constraints, and quality concerns
  • Implement sourcing strategies and ensure all change communication forms are actioned promptly
  • Support item master data integrity and ongoing maintenance
  • Ensure ordering parameters align with business unit requirements and supplier capabilities
  • Develop and execute company-wide transportation strategy in support of operational goals

Cost Management
  • Develop and execute annual cost reduction projects
  • Support inventory optimization by driving vendor on-time delivery performance
  • Support product-specific lead-time reduction efforts
  • Monitor steel and aluminum markets including futures market activity
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on transportation costs
  • Research and recommend cost-effective shipping methods

Business Controls
  • Ensure purchase order guidelines including authorization levels, confirmation dates, past-due POs, and pricing are adhered to by the team
  • Maintain organized records of vehicles, schedules, and completed orders
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable shipping regulations

Team Leadership
  • Complete employee evaluations and individual development plans
  • Provide training and coaching on purchasing processes, tools, and best practices
  • Monitor and drive improvement to the purchasing on-time-to-operation metric
  • Develop and implement KPIs as required
  • Attend weekly and monthly production and global purchasing meetings


What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 8 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience negotiating freight contracts supporting multi-site operations
  • Proficiency with ERP-based purchasing systems
  • Experience in metals commodities and hedging
  • Prior ERP implementation and/or improvement initiative experience required
  • Knowledge of MRP, inventory control, demand planning, and supply chain analytics preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
