The RoleWe currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a
Corporate Buyer, based out of our Technical Centre location. The Corporate Buyer will report to the Corporate Procurement Manager. Responsibilities would include:
APQP:
- Leading the APQP & Gate Review process for Advanced Purchasing for all assigned new programs
- Sourcing all new components/raw materials in accordance with Program timing
- Supporting Supplier program launch meetings and resolving any potential commercial issues
- Quoting & negotiating Engineering Changes
- Managing the addition of new suppliers, including required documentation & MRP set-up
- Ensuring all raw materials & components are ordered and received ahead of pre-production builds
- Working with Suppliers to have packaging proposals received and approved for all new components
- Ensuring Supplier Bailee Receipt forms are signed and received for all MP/OEM owned tooling
- Maintaining records of our Supplier Selection process and handing off to the Plants ahead of Gate 5
- Preparing Program status presentations and reporting out to Leadership at Gate reviews
Sales Support:- Working with our Sales Team to quote and support all new business opportunities
Supplier RFQ's & Cost Reduction:- Generating RFQ's, including the preparation of all program/part requirements
- Receiving, analyzing and negotiating Supplier quotes, and summarizing for final Supplier Selection
- Supporting the negotiation and finalization of all current and new Contract Agreements
- Aiding the Plants in MRO Cost Savings Opportunities and Supplier Negotiations
- Implementing, tracking & ensuring receipt of Direct Material & MRO Rebates & LTA agreements
- Identifying supplier consolidation across Plants for best possible price on new and existing materials
- Implementing direct material & MRO cost down opportunities (PPV) and presenting monthly
Supplier Performance:- Supporting the Plants as required in the escalation of Supplier Quality & Delivery Issues
- Completing regular reviews of the Approved Supplier List
- Conducting annual reviews with major suppliers and adopting creative strategies to decrease costs
- Developing new Suppliers to support Mitchell Plastics requirements for Cost, Quality & Technology
- Ensuring Supplier files are current and that they are in conformance with IATF 16949 requirements
Our Ideal Candidate:- Has five or more years of experience in Automotive Purchasing
- Has post-secondary education in Business Management, Purchasing, or Materials Management
- Understands Automotive supplier and customer expectations and requirements
- Understands the various aspects of the Materials Department
(Purchasing, Customer Service, Shipping, Storage, Production control)
- Is able to lead the negotiation process of all current and new contract agreements
- Is able to work with the Sales Team to quote and support all new business quote opportunities
- Has excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications & ERP/MRP systems
- Has superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Takes initiative and is able to identify areas for opportunity
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Details: Salary Range: $80 - 100k annually.

Hours of Work: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday to Friday
