Full Job Description
Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and business-oriented In-House Counsel to lead and manage the company's compliance function in the United States. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust corporate risk management and compliance framework, with a strong focus on data privacy and transfer, product liability and marketing, and antitrust and competition issue compliance.

The ideal candidate is proactive, practical, and comfortable working in a fast-growing, cross-border business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance and Risk Management
  • Identify legal and compliance risks across business operations and support on internal audit and compliance review.
  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve the company's risk management and compliance program, with the focus on data security, antirust compliance, and product liability and marketing.
  • Review and improve internal policies, including but not limited to Code of Conduct and compliance guidelines, to promote a strong culture of ethics and compliance across the company.

2. Data Privacy and Security
  • Advise the business team on the implementation and practice of consumer data privacy and data transfer laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Support the review and update of product and company website related data protection and privacy policies.
  • Establish data security incident response plans.

3. Antitrust and Competition Law
  • Advise the business team on antitrust related issues, particularly on pricing strategies implementation, to ensure legal compliance and to reduce antitrust risks.
  • Develop and deliver antitrust compliance training to the business team.

4. Product Compliance and Marketing
  • Monitor regulatory development related to consumer electronics and home appliances products to ensure company products meet applicable U.S. regulatory and safety standards.
  • Review product labeling, manuals, warranty, and marketing materials for legal compliance.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel in response to product liability related litigations.

5. Commercial Contracts and Other Legal Support
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice to business teams.
  • Communicate and cooperate with headquarters legal team as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate with external counsel as needed.


Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active U.S. bar license (Georgia preferred or ability to register in-house in Georgia)
  • 5-10 years of relevant legal experience as an in-house counsel or in law firm
  • Legal experience in manufacturing, consumer electronics, or related industries is strongly preferred.

Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. data privacy, security, and transfer laws at both state and federal levels
  • Familiarity with consumer electronics and home appliances products compliance frameworks and marketing laws
  • Solid experience in antitrust and competition law (pricing, distribution, channel management)
  • Experience building or managing compliance programs is a plus
