Full Job Description
Reporting directly to the SVP & General Counsel, this role owns significant legal matters from inception through resolution while driving continuous improvement in how legal services are delivered.

Essential Functions:

Litigation Management
  • Manage the Company's litigation portfolio, including employment, premises liability, personal injury, commercial, and other disputes.
  • Develop litigation strategy with the SVP & General Counsel and direct outside counsel from claim inception through resolution.
  • Manage litigation budgets, discovery, litigation holds, settlement strategy, reporting and legal spend.

Contract Management
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements, including procurement, marketing, construction, consulting, confidentiality and other strategic business agreements.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial real estate leases, licenses and related documents.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks to improve consistency and efficiency.

Corporate Governance & Licensing
  • Manage entity formation, annual filings, corporate records and governance documentation, including board resolutions.
  • Oversee gaming operator, holding company and business licensing matters and coordinate license applications and renewals and other regulatory filings.
  • Manage the Company's intellectual property portfolio in coordination with outside counsel.

Strategic Business Partner
  • Provide timely, practical legal advice that balances business objectives with legal and regulatory risk.
  • Partner with leadership to identify and mitigate legal risk while supporting strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate across departments to foster compliance and achieve business objectives.

Continuous Improvement & Legal Operations
  • Improve legal processes, workflows and service delivery.
  • Leverage AI and other technology to improve efficiency while maintaining appropriate governance and confidentiality.
  • Develop templates, playbooks, and self-service resources that help the business move faster while reducing legal risk.
  • Lead and/or support special projects and other legal matters as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Approximately 6+ years' progressive experience as a practicing lawyer, preferably in both a law firm as well as an in-house environment.
  • Experience managing litigation and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Experience with employment litigation and highly regulated industries, including gaming, is preferred.
  • Experience using or implementing AI and other legal technology tools is a plus.

Required Certification/License
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state. Ohio bar admission preferred; candidates eligible for Ohio in-house counsel registration will also be considered.
