Full Job Description
T-Mobile has an exciting opportunity for an attorney with exceptional analytical and communication skills and a talent for creative problem-solving to provide privacy guidance to our dynamic business teams. A successful candidate will be ready to jump into action, working closely with experts across the legal department and business partners to provide practical, strategic legal guidance and design and implement creative, simple solutions to address complex legal and technological challenges. The Corporate Counsel - Financial Privacy & Emerging Data Use serves as a trusted legal advisor supporting T-Mobile's growing financial products, services, and innovative data initiatives. This role provides strategic counsel on financial privacy and consumer protection laws, including GLBA, FCRA, state privacy regulations, and emerging data privacy requirements, while partnering closely with cross-functional business teams to enable compliant, customer-focused innovation. The position is responsible for assessing privacy risks, guiding product development, supporting compliance programs, drafting policies and contractual provisions, monitoring legislative developments, and delivering practical legal solutions that balance business objectives with regulatory obligations in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. What you'll do in your role. 37Advise the company on privacy laws, regulations, obligations, and industry standards impacting T-Mobile's growing financial products and services portfolio. 37Counsel on Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and state financial privacy laws, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), state omnibus privacy law carveouts for financial data, and emerging consumer financial data privacy laws. 37Advise on privacy considerations for emerging data uses at T-Mobile, including new data-driven products and services, as well as wiretap/recording laws related to AI-enabled products/services. 37Guide privacy impact assessments and similar analyses of existing and proposed products, services, systems, and processes. 37Develop strong business partnerships to help guide the business on privacy considerations for business strategies and products. 37Drive a successful compliance program in these areas through, e.g., drafting of internal and public-facing policies, disclosures, and other documentation and compliance training to raise awareness across the enterprise. 37Draft and negotiate related provisions in commercial contracts as needed. 37Analyze potentially impactful legislation and regulations and provide subject matter expertise to T-Mobile's Government Affairs team. 37Propel other department and team initiatives as assigned. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
