Summary
The Accounting Controller oversees all areas related to financial reporting. This role involves developing and maintaining accounting policies, principles, practices, and procedures to ensure that financial statements are accurate and timely. The Accounting Controller supervises the accounting staff and manages the team to guarantee that work is appropriately allocated, completed promptly, and accurately. This position handles tight deadlines and a range of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit support, and assistance with budget and forecasting activities. This role reports to the VP of Finance.
Essential Functions

- Manage full-cycle, monthly financial close within a strict reporting timeline, including preparation of internal financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supports plant and operation managers by providing timely and accurate financial data and analysis.
- Safeguard company assets by developing, enforcing, and monitoring internal controls.
- Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting process by collecting and analyzing financial data.
- Ensure corporate income tax compliance by maintaining books and records to facilitate the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns, including preparation of tax provisions.
- Lead and manage a team of accounting and clerical staff.
- Manage full-cycle payroll process, ensuring all employees (500+) are paid weekly.
- Manage the procure-to-pay cycle, ensuring strict adherence to vendor control and timely payment to all vendors.
- Manage the order-to-cash cycle, ensuring customers are invoiced in a timely manner and that cash receipts are collected.
- Lead and manage the treasury function, including stringent cash management and forecasting requirements.
- Prepares ad hoc and other special reports as needed.
- Manage compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and requirements.
- Liaison to internal and external auditors.
- Participate in TVS SCS quality and excellence initiatives.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage a staff
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Advanced computer proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, Kronos, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
- Knowledge of financial, accounting, and budgeting principles, including generally accepted accounting principles and IFRS16 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, operations, inventory management, and cost accounting within a multi-site production or supply chain environment, preferred

Work Environment
This job is performed in an on-site office environment, with flexible remote work available as needed or required. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in a warehouse location.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-Time, Exempt. Flexibility in scheduling for extended or unplanned work hours is necessary. Consistent and reliable attendance at work is required.
Travel
Occasional travel between locations.
