Corporate Controller

Location: Water St. Facility, Summerside, PE

Scope: Supporting multi-site operations across Prince Edward Island

Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000 per year

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller is a key leadership role within the organization. This position is responsible for leading the accounting team, overseeing financial reporting and the month-end close process, enhancing internal controls, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate month-end close, managing timelines and reviewing working papers, reconciliations, and reports.
  • Review monthly financial statements and conduct variance analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Provide oversight and guidance across key functions including financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company policies.
  • Prepare internal reports that support operational and strategic decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard company assets and support compliance.
  • Prepare and oversee regulatory, compliance, and ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Manage the year-end audit process and act as the primary liaison with the auditors.
  • Support, develop, and mentor team members, fostering accountability and a high-performing team environment.

Qualifications
  • CPA designation required.
  • Progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting, with a strong technical foundation in month-end close, reconciliations, internal controls, and variance analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to develop team members, maintain accountability, and foster a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, and/or Visual Basic, are considered an asset.
