Position Overview:The Communications Manager develops and executes internal and external communications that inform, engage and strengthen CCM's relationships with employees, media, customers, partners and other key audiences. The role provides strategic counsel on messaging, audiences, channels and timing while managing communications projects from development through execution. Working closely with Corporate Communications leadership and cross-functional partners, the Communications Manager supports media relations, corporate announcements, executive communications, employee communications, community and partnership initiatives, issues management and other efforts that strengthen CCM's reputation and tell the company's story.
Job Responsibilities:- Develop and execute internal and external communications plans supporting business priorities, corporate initiatives, employee programs, partnerships, organizational changes and key announcements.
- Serve as a communications advisor to business leaders and departments, providing guidance on messaging, audiences, channels, timing and overall communications strategy.
- Manage communications projects from strategy and development through stakeholder coordination, approvals, distribution and measurement.
- Create clear, compelling communications across channels, including press releases, media statements, executive communications, employee communications, talking points, presentations, FAQs, newsletters and digital content.
- Support media relations by responding to inquiries, coordinating interviews, developing media materials, building reporter relationships and identifying opportunities to increase CCM's visibility.
- Support executive visibility, thought leadership and reputation-building initiatives, as well as communications related to partnerships, community initiatives, events, acquisitions and other key corporate activities.
- Support issues and crisis communications by developing timely, accurate and coordinated messaging for internal and external audiences.
- Support internal communications channels and editorial calendars, and support employee and leadership events, including town halls and other communications initiatives.
- Monitor media coverage, build and maintain media reporting, and analyze communications performance, audience feedback and industry trends to identify opportunities, improve effectiveness and strengthen CCM's communications strategy and reputation.
Qualifications and Skills:- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of communications experience, preferably including internal, employee or change communications.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with knowledge of AP style to translate complex information into clear, actionable communications.
- Demonstrated skill in managing communications projects from planning through delivery while coordinating multiple stakeholders, priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills, to build relationships with senior leaders and sales professionals, ask thoughtful questions and provide candid advice on messaging, audiences, channels and timing.
- Demonstrated composure and sound judgment in a high-volume, high-accountability sales environment.
- Experience using communications performance data and employee feedback to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Familiarity with internal communications platforms, email tools, and intranet systems, preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
