  • Collaborate on risk mitigation strategies with Relationship Managers and the Credit Department.

Full Job Description
Works closely with assigned Relationship Managers to manage a portfolio of Corporate Banking relationships. Oversees the credit quality, financial performance, and ongoing risk management of the portfolio. The role ensures loans remain compliant and within the bank's risk appetite.

Essential Job Responsibilities

1. Conducts independent financial statement, covenant and collateral analysis for Corporate Banking clients. Assess liquidity, leverage and debt service capacity.

2. In collaboration with Relationship Manager(s), manages an assigned portfolio of relationships. Portfolio size and complexity may vary based on length of service and management decisions.

3. Manage a pipeline of Annual reviews, Interim reviews, Covenant testing, Renewals and Modifications.

4. Assists with the cultivation of new business opportunities from existing corporate clients and assists Relationship Manager(s) help meet client needs and deepen relationships. Support cross-sell opportunities as identified through client interaction.

5. Monitors client financial performance versus plan objectives and financial covenant compliance on a regular basis; discusses the performance with the relationship team. Reports credit deterioration promptly and works with Special Assets to mitigate potential losses, as needed.

6. Proactively manages renewals and extensions of maturing notes, expiring commitments.

7. Monitors delinquencies within assigned portfolio. Identify early warning signals of credit deterioration.

8. Collaborate on balanced risk mitigation strategies in partnership with the RM and Credit Department.

9. Prepares and assists in the presentation of loan modification requests, Criticized Asset Committee reports, Watch Review reports, Semi-Annual Line Sheets and any other required reports, on an as-needed basis and in conjunction with Relationship Manager.

10. Ensure portfolio meets internal policy and regulatory expectations.

11. Formulates independent conclusion on risk rating and makes recommendations to Credit Department.

12. Follows assigned accounts, in conjunction with relationship team, to ensure financial statements are received timely and evaluated regularly to assess borrower risk.

13. Provides portfolio information on a timely basis to be included as part of credit analysis and/or performance reports. Maintains a continuous improvement mindset.

14. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all corporate banking products and services.

15. Participates in client meetings as needed.

16. Maintains a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures.

Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications

1. A bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required.

2. A minimum of three (3) to seven (7) years of strong credit analyst experience and/or demonstrated portfolio management skills required. Ability to independently underwrite commercial loans. Knowledge of commercial loan structures and documentation.

3. Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence others, as well as strong computer and analytical skills are necessary.

4. A valid driver's license and travel, including some overnight stays, are required.
