JOB STATUS: OPEN EFFECTIVE: 2026-27 POSTING DATE: 04/22/2026 CLOSING DATE: 09/30/2026 04:30 PM POSTING NUMBER: 00058655 SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT: Procurement and Supply Services LOCATION: Prince William County,VA POSITION TITLE: COORDINATOR, PURCHASING (CIP) - 250 DAY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS: This position will remain open until filled. The first screening of applications will take place at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Applications received after that date may be reviewed and considered as they are received. An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site. JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the economical procurement and contracting of highly technical and specialized complex commodities. This position manages various commodities that may include goods and services (both professional and non-professional), construction, insurance, Universal Service Fund (E-Rate) and IT as well as special projects and prevailing wage. This position has considerable knowledge in public procurement with specific knowledge and skills for construction and facilities' CIP projects. Work requires engagement and collaboration with school and department leadership. Responds to vendors, and community on procurement matters. This position requires procurement expertise including excellent oral and written communication skills. Work is performed with a high degree of independence and decision-making. Work is reviewed by the Supervisor of Purchasing through conferences and reports for conformance with established policies, procedures, purchasing regulations, the Virginia Public Procurement Act and Federal Law as required. This position recommends policy or procedural changes, gives presentations, provides training, and supervises subordinate staff. This position remains informed on procurement legislation and best practices. Job Description SALARY: Grade 15 Salary Range: $106,965 - $173,391 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package DAYS: 250 FULL TIME/PART TIME: Full Time
