Summary:

To manage and scale work-based learning through Career and Technical Education courses in middle schools, high schools, and CTE Center

Qualifications:
  • Valid Virginia Collegiate Professional license with endorsement in a career and technical program area and three years of teaching experience in CTE preferred. Experience in other fields considered.
  • Knowledge of youth labor laws and experience in job placement and/or career planning preferred.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail, strong communication and technology skills required. Ability to interface with a variety of stakeholders in meeting instructional and training needs of students is essential.


Essential Functions:

  • Working with local business and industry leaders and other stakeholders including principals, counselors, teachers, transition specialist, gifted coordinator, and career coaches to promote and develop work-based learning opportunities for middle and high school students.
  • Providing and supporting supplemental workplace readiness, service learning, and career exploration opportunities for middle school students with focus on high wage, high demand and non-traditional career pathways.
  • Coordinating the online application process including the selection and placement of high school students in work-based learning at the high school level.
  • Coaching and training building-level facilitators on how to vet work stations and place, monitor, support, and evaluate students in work-based learning experiences.
  • Routinely update training agreements and associated documents for work-based learning placements under the guidance of legal counsel.
  • Attending the annual state Work-based Learning Conference and participating in regional meetings.
  • Administering the roll out of a work-based learning platform for building-level facilitator and student use.
  • Filing all required career and technical education reports related to work-based learning and verifying counts.
  • Coordinating speakers' bureau to place guest speakers in classrooms.
  • Coordinating appreciation events for local business partners.
  • Creating an annual report of work-based learning for the division.
  • Collaborating with CTE supervisor to update and implement strategic plan to include identification of effective communication platforms to increase awareness of CTE and Work-based learning for all students.
  • Other duties as may be assigned through the immediate supervisor.

Pay Rate:

The salary range is $93,539-$154,033

Full time / 12 months / 245 days
