Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Coordinator Budgetary Services. in the Department of Medicine- Global Tuberculosis Institute (GTBI) within the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS).
The Coordinator Budgetary Services coordinates the general accounting activities of the Unit to ensure that financial transactions are properly processed and accounted. Develops and implements accounting systems and procedures; ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, account analyses and assists in preparation of expenditures and revenue forecasts. Deals with clinical and health department agreements.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Formulates, recommends and implements accounting procedures and controls for the unit.
- Analyzes present accounting systems and procedures for possible improvements.
- Responsible for general ledger accounting and maintenance of Chart of Accounts.
- Develops or improves methods of processing invoices and issuance of checks for payment.
- Prepares Unit's budget.
- Analyzes monthly statistical and operating results.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- Four (4) years of relevant financial experience are required.
- Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/LicensesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Excellent communication and analytical skills required.
- Strong spreadsheet and personal computer skills required.
- Able to work under deadlines and to balance multiple projects.
