Context & EnvironmentThis role is based at the Port Arthur Platform within the Maintenance Department.
Activities- Possess knowledge of applicable HSE rules and Procedures. Investigates incidents and initiates follow-ups and corrective action. Enforces rules and procedures in a positive and fair manner
- Effective in controlling expenses, meeting budgets and schedules
- Assigns and directs the work activities of the contractors in the daily maintenance activities within the refinery
- Communicates the job information and expectations to the contractor and provide auditing on the jobs to monitor performance and quality
- Feedback job status and schedule information to the Scheduler
- Maintain a good communication flow with Area Superintendents, Process Supervisors, and maintenance supervision in all of their area activities by updating job status during routine, turnaround and outage time periods
- Must be effective in using oral and written communication tools
- Keeps Mechanical Engineers informed and updated on status of their projects
- Assist the Planner and Scheduler in development of correct work scopes and time estimates for multi-craft and contractor work
- Responsible for the close out and completion of all multi-craft and contractor workorders in SAP maintenance management system
- Communicate safety and job quality expectations to the craftsmen and contract personnel prior to the start of the job
- Perform daily job Audits to ensure all Safety Procedures are being followed
- Anticipate contingencies and coordinate all job resource requirements prior to job start; evaluate options and provide alternate steps to prevent budget or schedule impact while work is in progress
- Assist in special maintenance projects and procedural development activities
- Possess craft-specific competence to allow filling the role of a craft supervisor on an as needed basis
- Monitor quality performance of maintenance and safety performance of work area for individual and group members
Candidate ProfileWhat You Will Bring: - High School Diploma or equivalent with 10+ years of craft experience and knowledge with supervision responsibilities
- Communication Skills - Effective in oral and written
- Leadership - knowledgeable and competent about rotating equipment with ability to continually develop groups capability
- On call 24 hour/7 day per week on as needed basis
- Ability to perform the specific craft work in emergency situations
- Weekend Maintenance duty for all maintenance problems on weekends/holidays a minimum of 3 times per year
- During Turnaround conditions, this position will work from 12 to 16-hour days - everyday - for up to 5 weeks at a time
