The ideal candidate brings strong technical experience supporting converting operations. While paper manufacturing experience is beneficial, we are equally interested in engineers from packaging, plastics, printing, coatings, laminating, extrusion, or other continuous manufacturing environments who can quickly learn our paper-based processes.

What We Are Looking For.. We're seeking a highly technical engineer with strong converting experience. While paper industry experience is a plus, candidates from packaging, plastics, printing, coating, laminating, extrusion, thermoforming, and other converting environments are strongly encouraged to apply. The ability to diagnose complex manufacturing issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement is more important than direct paper industry experience.
- Understanding of converting processes.
- Background in Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Board experience from a paper mill is a bonus.

- Experience in paper converting or similar industries like plastic converting -- a strong plus!
What You'll Do...- Lead and manage large, complex engineering projects focused on improving manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and process control systems.
- Coordinate project activities with engineers, technicians, designers, and other cross-functional team members.
- Lead process investigations and root cause analysis efforts to identify and implement sustainable manufacturing solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies for fabrication, assembly, processing, and manufacturing improvements.
- Troubleshoot production equipment and processes, evaluate alternatives, and implement engineering solutions that improve performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Partner with production and cross-functional teams to improve equipment, processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Create test plans, analyze data, and support implementation of process and equipment improvements.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex manufacturing challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and service.
- Mentor and support the development of other engineers.
- Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing processes, equipment optimization, quality improvements, and new product or process innovation.
What You'll Need...- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and six (6) years of engineering experience, or an Associate's degree and twelve (12) years of related engineering experience.
- Strong technical experience supporting converting operations and manufacturing process optimization.Proven experience analyzing production equipment, manufacturing processes, and materials while successfully solving complex operational issues.
- Experience utilizing structured problem-solving and quality methodologies such as SPC, SQC, 5S, 8D, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Gage R&R, and DOE.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment in converting, packaging, printing, plastics, thermoforming, injection molding, paper, or similar continuous manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large, complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and passport.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in paper converting, paper packaging, paper cup manufacturing, or paper mill operations.
- Experience in plastic converting, flexible packaging, printing, coating, laminating, extrusion, thermoforming, or related converting technologies.
- Understanding of paper substrates, paper dynamics, coatings, and fiber-based packaging materials.
- Experience with SPC, SQC, FMEA, DOE, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
Role Location & Travel...- Ability to travel up to 50%, with additional travel required during critical projects or business demands.
- Location: Mason, MI, Federalsburg MD, Leola, PA, or *Remote option avaiable.
- If you are unable to be based at one of our locations (Mason, MI | Federalsburg, MD | Leola, PA), this position is available as a remote role. Please note that remote work requires 60-70% travelto our facilities.
