Operations Leader - Converting Kruger Products Inc. - Kruger Pro Division | Trenton Converting Mill, Trenton, ON | Full-Time, Salaried
The Opportunity Our Trenton Converting Mill runs around the clock making products Canadians use every day. We're hiring an Operations Leader to run the floor on assigned converting assets - keeping people safe, lines running, and quality on spec, day after day.
This is a frontline leadership role. You'll set the standard on safety, hit production targets, coach your team, and drive out the losses that cost you uptime. If you like solving problems on the machine instead of reading about them in a report, this is your job.
What You'll DoLead Safety
- Set the safety standard by how you work, not just what you say.
- Run audits and observations, close gaps, and act on hazards before they become incidents.
Drive Quality
- Hold product to specification and lead corrective action when it isn't.
- Manage non-conformance and routine quality audits.
Own Production Results
- Deliver finished goods to grade, quality, volume, and cost.
- Track production rates, machine efficiency, waste, and material usage - and use the numbers to drive improvement.
- Execute changeovers efficiently and feed operational issues back to the team.
Build the Team
- Coach, give feedback, and develop a crew that performs without being watched.
- Identify training gaps and close them through mentoring, vendor training, and on-the-job learning.
- Handle performance management, conflict resolution, and time and attendance.
Improve the Operation
- Lead continuous improvement work aligned to OPEX principles.
- Reduce downtime, control cost, and build practical tools - troubleshooting guides, CILs, and SOPs.
Keep Assets Running
- Work with Maintenance Process Lead and Reliability on preventive maintenance and defect log priorities.
- Execute the actions coming out of RCFA and investigations.
Work Across the Plant
- Contribute as an active member of the Line-Centric Team.
- Support trials and keep line documentation and work instructions current.
What You Bring- Post-secondary education or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years with converting and/or packaging equipment in a technical leadership role, preferred.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development capability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with performance management and conflict resolution.
- Adaptability and the ability to lead change.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related applications.
