Job Summary:

Bring automation to life while helping power one of America's most advanced nuclear energy technologies. As a Controls Engineer at Centrus Energy, you'll design, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize the industrial control systems that keep the American Centrifuge Plant operating safely and efficiently. Working alongside operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, you'll solve real-world technical challenges, improve system reliability, and drive continuous process improvements. What You Will Do:

As a Controls Engineer, you'll support the design, operation, and continuous improvement of the plant's automation and control systems. You'll develop and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions, troubleshoot equipment and communication issues, analyze system performance, and implement improvements that maximize reliability and efficiency. You'll partner with operations and maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges, support integrated system testing, provide operator training, and ensure critical plant systems perform safely and reliably around the clock.

We'd Love to Hear from People With:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another accredited engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of engineering experience supporting industrial automation, controls, manufacturing, or process systems
  • Experience designing, installing, programming, and supporting industrial process control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and process instrumentation
  • Working knowledge of engineering standards, principles, and best practices related to industrial automation and process control equipment
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional engineering, operations, and maintenance teams
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" level security clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting industrial control systems in manufacturing, energy, chemical processing, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience with one or more industrial control platforms, including Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Honeywell, ABB, or Emerson
  • Experience supporting system commissioning, integrated testing, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, system reliability, and equipment performance monitoring
  • Active "Q" or Top Secret Clearance

Pay:

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $78,581-$109,000. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
