ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:- Serves as the Finance Department lead in the absence of the Finance Director.
- Oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll oversight, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Maintains accurate financial records and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Establishes, maintains, and monitors internal controls and accounting procedures designed to safeguard organizational assets.
- Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including account reconciliations and preparation of financial reports.
- Maintains the general ledger and related accounting systems.
- Assists in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and other financial analyses.
- Coordinates internal and external audits and serves as the primary point of contact for auditors.
- Supports tax reporting requirements, insurance audits, bond covenant compliance, and other regulatory reporting obligations.
- Partners with the Finance Director and department leaders in the development, monitoring, and forecasting of operating and capital budgets.
- Reviews budget variances and provides financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Meets regularly with department leaders to review financial performance, expenditures, and budget status.
- Provides guidance, mentoring, training, and support to Finance Department team members while promoting cross-training and operational continuity.
- Maintains appropriate documentation and record retention practices related to financial transactions and reporting
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including financial reporting, general ledger management, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Experience supervising accounting processes and/or finance personnel preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or similarly regulated environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency with financial management systems, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
