Full Job Description
Job Description:

The Corporate Controller is a critical leadership role responsible for the financial integrity of Penn Color's USA operations and the execution of the global financial consolidation. This position provides oversight for the domestic accounting operations and serves as the primary technical lead for USA-based financial audits and domestic tax compliance. Beyond technical execution, the Corporate Controller acts as a steward for the accounting function, focused on lifting the team through mentorship, optimizing processes for efficiency, and ensuring the department is structured to grow alongside the organization's evolving needs.

In this position you will be a "player-coach" who enjoys the technical details of a complex consolidation but can also step back to advise on high-level financial strategy. You will be dedicated to elevating those around you and helping the team achieve their career goals. Given our private ownership structure, we value a Controller who is comfortable pivoting priorities, discreet, and deeply committed to the long-term financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Team Development & Operational Excellence
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the domestic accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
  • Identify opportunities for technical upskilling and knowledge-sharing to ensure the team is aligned with industry's best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring high accuracy and efficiency in transactional processing.

Financial Integrity & Global Consolidation
  • Manage the financial close calendar to ensure stakeholders receive timely and reliable intelligence on company performance.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end global consolidation process, coordinating with regional controllers to ensure a unified and accurate global financial view.
  • Manage day-to-day cash management for the USA entity, including real-time monitoring of liquidity.

USA Tax, Audit & Compliance
  • Lead the annual USA financial audit, serving as the primary liaison for external auditors to ensure a transparent and efficient process.
  • Oversee USA tax compliance (federal, state, and local), collaborating closely with external tax partners on filings and proactive planning.
  • Maintain and review standards and policies for internal controls to ensure company assets are protected, accurate, and properly accounted for.

Education & Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is required.

Knowledge & Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with global consolidations and managing multi-currency environments.
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP; experience with mid-to-large tier ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce and drive high employee engagement.
  • Robust interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with stakeholders across multiple functions.
