Summary: The Controller is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control environment. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information while providing strategic insights that support organizational growth and decision-making. The Controller leads a high-performing accounting team and oversees core financial functions including budgeting, audits, payroll, cash management, financial analysis, and compliance. As a trusted business partner to senior leadership, the Controller drives operational excellence, strengthens financial processes and systems, safeguards company assets, and fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
Location: New Windsor, NY (Onsite – 5 days per week)
Essential Functions:
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Monitor financial performance, cash flow, and key performance indicators, delivering actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and company policies.
- Oversee external audits, tax filings, banking relationships, and treasury activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, financial planning, process improvements, and system enhancements, including ERP initiatives.

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
Preferred qualifications:
- CPA designation
- MBA
- Experience leading ERP implementations or system enhancements
Pay Range: In New York, the compensation for this position ranges from $150,000 -$175,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
