Schedule: Mostly days, some weekend and holidays based on HCA's close schedules.Job Summary and QualificationsThe Controller is responsible for consistent high quality and accurate financial reporting and oversight of internal controls for general accounting, payroll and compliance reporting. As a member of the hospital's leadership team, the Controller analyzes financial results and provide strategic input to achieve a higher level of performance. What you will do in this role:
- You will manage the dissemination of internal and external monthly and annual financial statements.
- You will oversee the month-end close process and prepare / present variance explanation.
- You will prepare and coordinate the annual budget process.
- You will establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
- You will analyze facility productivity and participate in productivity management initiatives and plans.
- You will create and sustain an environment that fosters team member engagement and meet or exceed yearly goals for vacancy and turnover rate.
- You will serve as a resource to other leaders / departments.
- You are responsible for the activities of the accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.
- You will ensure compliance with government reporting requirements, including working with Corporate Tax on preparation of tax reports, Corporate Reimbursement on completion of Medicare cost report, and all other sales and use tax reporting requirements.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Accounting. Masters nice but not required.
- Certification by State Board of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) is preferred.
- Highly desire internal HCA Controller or HCA Asst Controller experience.
- 5 years experience Required Years of Experience.
- Preferred 2 years in public accounting, 2 years in directly related experience in healthcare industry.
