Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual year-end audit and coordinate with auditing firms
  • Oversee the annual budget process in collaboration with directors and managers

Full Job Description
We have an exciting Controller opportunity at our Teays Valley Admin Office. This is a financial leadership role reporting directly to the CFO.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:
  • Work: 5 to 10 years of accounting management experience in small/ medium size non-profit company setting. FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) experience preferred, but not required. Prefer experience in Microsoft Office, Accounts Payable and Accounting Processes.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Master's Degree preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete oversight and supervision of Accounting Staff:
  • 2 Staff Accountants, 1 A/P Associate, 1 Accounting Clerk.
  • Complete annual performance reviews and compensation change recommended.
  • Approve and coordinate all staff PTO requests.

Monthly Close, all areas and functions:
  • Budget to Actual P&L variance analysis.
  • Completes all necessary Journal Entries.
  • Approves all staff Journal Entries.
  • Oversees and tracks close progress as per Close Schedule
  • Completes Financial Statements for CFO review.

Accounts Receivable:
  • Ensures all receivables are reconciled every month.
  • Ensures all cash is reconciled with 24 hours of receipt.

Accounts Payable:
  • Approve all invoice coding before entering into accounting system.
  • Oversee processing of all A/P check runs.
  • Verify all contractual vendors have 1099 forms in possession.
  • Oversee processing of 1099 forms annually.

Cash Management:
  • Oversee daily cash reports, ensure operating account is properly funded.
  • Ensure all checking accounts are reconciled every month.

Annual Projects:
  • Year- End Audit:
    1. Take the lead interacting with auditing firm.
    2. Take full charge of the audit, including timely completion of all PBC requests.
  • Annual Budget:
    1. Take full charge of the budget process. Work with Health Operation Directors, CMO, CFO and other managers to develop budget subject to CEO and Board Approval.
