Summary: The Controller reports to the CEO is responsible for direct oversight of day-to-day accounting functions, integrating finance operations, forecasting, and budgeting, handling tax matters, preparing financial reports, and ensuring organizational financial stability. This position will provide financial and accounting guidance to the organization as well as establish internal controls to ensure proper transactions and reporting are done.

- Provides overall leadership, direction, and accountability for the Accounting department, including staffing, performance management, training, development, and department operations.
- Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and key performance metrics to executive leadership.
- Oversee all accounting and financial operations for multiple company locations, ensuring accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities, partnering with department leaders to align financial plans with organizational objectives.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends, monitor performance against budget, and provide strategic recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage all banking relationships, cash flow activities, debt obligations and other financial transactions to maintain the organization's financial stability.
- Evaluate financial and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to support sound business decision-making and long term growth.
- Streamline and continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
- Oversee the vehicle titling process, ensuring timely and accurate title administration and compliance with all applicable state and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial reporting, tax, licensing and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications- 8+ years of controller or experience or in similar role
- BA/BS in Accounting required, MBA/MS preferred
- CPA designation preferred
- Proven experience in finance management
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, fostering collaboration across departments and organizational levels.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, and GAAP, supported by a strong accounting background.
- Audit experience strongly preferred, including experience working with external auditors and managing audit processes.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management practices.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting and ERP systems, with expert-level Microsoft Excel skills and experience leveraging financial reporting tools.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable business insights.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, professional judgment, and commitment to confidentiality and ethical financial practices.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has direct supervisory responsibility over the accounting department.
Work EnvironmentThis position works in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch, but hours can vary based on need.
